Mr. Watanabe was in charge of trading of electric power related products for the Middle East, Africa and Europe as well as plant construction projects at Sumitomo Corporation. After that, he was transferred to Summit Energy Corporation, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, where he was in charge of a wide range of operations including power plant development, power supply and demand management, and retail sales. He then joined Eneris Corporation in 2009, where he served as Executive Officer, Director, and Managing Director.
Ken Watanabe also listed Enaris on the TSE Mothers market in 2013 as director in charge of listing.
In 2016, Eneris formed a capital and business alliance with KDDI Corporation, which led to his resignation from the Board of Directors and appointment as Executive Officer at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in March 2017; in January 2019, he established REXEV Corporation and became President and Representative Director.
